Commercial Case Study - Belview Eggs
NRG Panel were recently commissioned to supply Belview Eggs with 150kW of PV. Thanks to the their new PV installation the large packaging business is now partly self-sufficient with the PV reducing up to 50% of their previously 'huge' electricity bill whilst also reducing their greenhouse gas emissions.
Belview Eggs is a family firm run jointly by Dermot and Nicola Herlihy. Dermot started producing eggs in the 1978. Belview Eggs have made radical changes since expanding into packing to become what is today, a modern well equipped market driven company.
It is now a company that produces, collects, grades, sells and delivers fresh eggs direct into the retail shops under the BORD BIA quality assurance scheme. Although Belview Eggs is a rather small company, compared to some of their competitors, they have a strong market position and are suppliers for some of the country's leading retailers.
Belview Eggs Producers Follow Suit...
Since the project, many of Belview's producers, impressed with their set-up, have followed suit and commissioned NRG Panel to supply Solar PV to their businesses thus reducing their carbon footprint and cost of producing free range eggs.
