ELECTRIC IRELAND ROOFTOP SOLAR PANELS FOR IRISH FARMS
Electric Ireland are now offering solar panel systems for farms in a range of sizes right from 6kWp to 50kWp.
Solar panels (Solar PV) can help farmers to reduce their electricity bills and improve the efficiency of their farm, along with reducing their carbon footprint which is paramount in the prevention of climate change.
Solar Panels (Solar PV) make it possible to run high energy operations such as milking parlours on 100% renewable energy. There is also an option to add on a hot water diverter to use any surplus energy to heat the water on the farm and batteries to store any excess energy produced to be used at a later stage and save it from going back to the grid unused.

Executive director Marguerite (Electric Ireland) said the new offering will provide farms of all sizes an opportunity to make big savings and help them reduce their carbon footprint with 100% clean renewable energy.

“The panels, which sit above a shed on my farm, were installed quickly and easily. I’ve also been able to track energy usage with the energy monitoring app, which has been a great asset,” he said.
