The following case study was conducted by NRG Panel in 2021. This case study contains imagery and details of a genuine solar panel installation carried out by our team.

This case study was carried out on an installation by NRG Panel and is great example of solar panels Galway
Nadine got in contact with us back in May 2020 as she wanted to see are solar panels worth it for her, she had a friend that recommended NRG Panel as he had previously been installed by ourselves. She was sick of her huge electricity bills as her entire home ran on electricity. Her breaking point was when her bills hit an all-time high of €600 bimonthly when everyone was at home during covid lockdowns. She had researched ways to reduce her bills and decided that solar panels where the solution to her problems.
Nadine is living in a beautiful 4 bed detached house, there are two adults and two children in the home. The roof was tiled and was south facing which was the ideal orientation for solar panels. As her BER rating was not within the SEAI grant territory, this meant that Nadine automatically qualified for our NRG Panel incentive for those who are not SEAI eligible. This incentive is three extra free panels equating to an additional €6,000 savings over the lifetime of the system.
After a consultation, our energy expert designed a bespoke system for Nadine. They decided that the best option based on the monthly electricity usage, lifestyle, roof space and orientation would be an 11 panel system on the south facing roof with the inverter installed in attic. As Nadine was using electric to heat her water, we added on a My Eddi diverter and this was installed in the hot press.
The system was installed in July 2020 in half a day. Our aim was to save this customer on her bills and to also provide her with some hot water, all the while reducing her carbon footprint and increasing her BER rating.
We caught up with Nadine since the solar panel installation she said that the system is working great, on average it’s reduced her over-all energy bill by 30% per month, which is quite amazing considering she still uses electric heating at night as her house is all electric.
She is actually so happy with solar PV, herself and some colleagues are doing a talk on renewable energies and their experiences with solar panels in her workplace, hopefully there may be some more interest generated from that and she might even get one or two referrals.
Solar PV is worth the investment and NRG Panel are the leading installer but don’t take our word – Check out this wicked review by Nadine after she was installed.
“Very happy with the setup, the support has been brilliant (as I had some questions about the monitoring app, and I got a response within a few hours of emailing, and issues were resolved quickly). Sales and installation went so smoothly, the installation was very neat and tidy, and everyone was really helpful”

We are the leading installer for solar panels Galway and nationwide and our customers agree!
We use a consultative approach, so you will not get that pushy sales pitch that is all too prevalent in our industry – our consultants are highly trained and our solar panel consultations are completely free.
You have no obligation to proceed with the install if you decide solar PV is not for you after the consultation. However, you may like the idea of saving up to 50% on your electricity bills along with heating your water, charging your car, reducing your carbon footprint and getting paid for excess energy.
Who knows, maybe you could be part of our case studies next year!
